Craft Documentation

The students of Indus Design School, Indus University were given a Craft Documentation. Students were free to choose and explore the Crafts of any place in the world. There are endless crafts which can be explored in India but are not known by most people.

The objective of doing this research is to get knowledge of the tools, process and the conditions of the artisans performing this artform.

One such craft is Rogan art, which is 400 years old and is practised only in one family in the whole world. The Khatri family of Nirona village, 40km from Bhuj, are performing this art forever.

Another such craft is 'Ganesha idol making'. To get the complete insight into such sphere, students interact with the artisans from a village (Shrigonda) of Maharashtra.
